Without further ado, here is the video I promised of the Young Mom Summit. If you weren't in attendance, you missed out!

I love seeing men take care of babies. I don't mean to imply that a man interacting with his child should be given a cookie, but to see men get silly and rap about breast pumps...it's cute. I like it.
That's why this video caught my eye. Plus the beat is kind of catchy in that "Kidz Bop" sort of way. Plus, plus, that baby is adorable and doing nothing to stop my ovaries from going into … [Continue reading...]
Once I heard that Deesha Philyaw and her ex-husband Mike Thomas were going to be writing a book on co-parenting peacefully, I knew I had to get at least one of them to do an interview and share what they've learned over the years.
The two are the creators of Co-parenting101.org, a one-stop-shop for all things co-parenting related. If you want to know about custody agreements, difficult exes, … [Continue reading...]
Welcome to my "new" video series, the Young Mom Summits. Episode THREE in the series … [Continue reading...]

So I gathered up a few of my favorite young mom friends for a video interview on making it through school once you have a kid (catch it … [Continue reading...]
A couple comments on yesterday's Facebook post got me thinking about the women who feel like they are single moms even though they've got a husband. The "single married moms" are everywhere (I used to kinda sorta consider myself one) and they are angry, full of resentment. Marriage is not what they thought it would be.
I know, because I used to be there. But over time, my husband and I have … [Continue reading...]
My goal in 2012 is to do more things that scare me, that push me out of my comfort zone. So that means more video. I prefer the anonymity of the keyboard, I like letting the words on the screen represent me. But as YML continues to grow, I realize I won't be able to hide forever.
So two weeks ago, I asked four of my student-parent friends to participate in the first Young Mom Summit. Powered by … [Continue reading...]
