Get Ready For The Biggest Collection Of Young Mothers’ Stories On The Web

So in approximately one month, my beautiful baby girl, my first born, turns 5. Her mama (er, me) will be turning 26 only a few days later. I’ve been thinking about this day since she was born, honestly, and I think I know the perfect way to celebrate her born day.

So here’s my plan: For the month of November, I want us to explore those defining moments of motherhood: the first time you spent the night away from your child; the first time your kid had a blow-out diaper in public and you only had 3 wipes and a crumpled up diaper; the first time you burst into tears from exhaustion. Whatever that moment was that made you think, “Wow – I’m a mom now,” and let you know that life, from here on out, was never going to be the same.

I want a mix of stories. Some that make us laugh, others that make us cry, and some that just allow us to nod our heads in that universal “I’ve been there!” kind of way.

So here’s what I need from you, my bloggy buddies.

Please send me 300-500 words on your motherhood defining moment (feel free to go over this limit, if you need to – I can always edit later). I’ll also need a brief bio from you, maybe 2-3 sentences, along with any links you’d like me to include with the post (if you have a side business you want to promote, or your own blog, etc).

I’m hoping this can be mutually beneficial for all bloggers involved and we can see a traffic bump as a result of our collective stories. Submissions are due to me [tara@theyoungmommylife.com] by October 28.

Sound good? Let’s get it!

  1. I am super excited about sharing my story with you. I am glad there is a little time because I need to narrow my choices down. (smile) Motherhood is such a wonderful, messy, beautiful bumpy ride that I really need to reflect a moment. My girls are 10 and 5 so the memories are not so far off but some days I think I will blink and they will grown and gone because it has all gone by so fast. Thanks for the “assignment” and I look forward to seeing other moms stories as well.

  2. Oh – I might have to do this one… lol. I have story after story after story SMH

  3. Got one in mind, can’t wait!
