because I can’t get enough of Princess Tiana…

So the Princess and the Frog has been in theatres for what, three weeks? I’ve seen it twice and I loved it both times.

Now – why did I love it? I wrote a little bit about it in my brief review, but I wanted to revisit the issue.

I recently received Carol’s Daughter’s Magical Beauty Collection to use for my daughter. When I first heard that Disney had partnered with Carol’s Daughter to create this line of princess-worthy beauty products, I literally squealed. It makes such perfect sense.

My favorite part of the movie – obviously – was Princess Tiana. Nevermind that she wasn’t a princess the whole movie, or that she was a frog for 60% of the movie. The point is Tiana was fierce. She was fabulous. She had a goal and she worked night and day to make it happen. When she became a princess at the end of the movie, it was just confirming what we already knew minutes into the movie. She was a real-deal star.

She reminded me of my mother, who has worked three jobs (two full-time, one part time) consistently for the past four years. She works hard because she wants the best for her kids.

She reminds me of well, me. I recognized that love of cooking and sharing anywhere, and we both work hard to make it happen.

This is why I was so anxious to get my hands on these products. I wanted my daughter to see Princess Tiana (just like she can see me and her Nana) and think, “You know, if I work hard enough and try hard enough, all my dreams can come true.”

It’s not enough for me to simply buy the princess dresses and get the DVD when it comes out and talk about how fabulous being a princess is. It’s important for my daughter, while receiving all the fluffy messages about how pretty princesses are, to also know that underneath all that outer beauty is inner beauty as well.

In the Magical Beauty Collection, there is a shampoo (“The Beauty Within”), conditioner (“Inner Shine”), hair detangler (“Dream Big”), and bubble bath (“Sharing Means Caring”).  Now my daughter has big, beautiful, curly hair and I can’t WAIT to try these on her. I’m at least hoping that if she sees Princess Tiana peeking out at her on the counter that she will hold still instead of the usual “OH MY GOD SHE’S ATTACKING ME WITH A COMB!!!”

So pick up one (or all) of these products for the little princess in your life. With Carol’s Daughter, you know you are getting quality products that you wouldn’t be hesitant to use on your kids, you know?
