one dollar makes all the difference

I wanted to do something different on this blog, something that could truly make a difference this holiday season. I know many bloggers are rolling out their gift guides and Christmas giveaways, but I wanted to take a different approach and try to RAISE money.

You see, I’m a firm believer that when you are blessed with something, you are obligated to give back. I have been blessed with a fabulous blog community full of passionate, inspired moms who rock at their jobs day in and day out.

I’m launching the “Young Mommy Life Gives Back” campaign to help young mothers like Ashley, who need a shot at happiness after overcoming tremendous odds.

Money we raise will go directly to the Young Mothers @ The Margin (www.atthemargin.org) campaign, a collective group of agencies, foundations and for-profit companies that are all pushing for young mothers nationwide to have a chance at a better life. Your contribution will go to agencies that provide services for young mothers, helping them navigate childcare, job searches, college admission and more.

I’m asking everyone to donate $1. ONE DOLLAR! If everyone gives $1, we can definitely hit the $500 mark before the end of the year. The primary fundraising mechanism I chose accepts PayPal donations. Don’t have a PayPal account and still want to donate? Hit up my Change.org page where you can pay using Visa, American Express or Mastercard.

Here is the link to my fundraising page, where I will be blogging as well during the campaign. Share the link with friends: http://youngmoms.chipin.com/yml-gives

  1. Wonderful, wonderful project, Tara! Thank you for this information. I’ll keep visiting to stay posted on all things “Young Mommy Live Gives Back”!

  2. Thanks for supporting the Young mothers @ the margin campaign with your blog, energy and heart. Also, thanks for the work you are doing through your blog to support 20 something mothers. We agree that it’s time for the invisibility of “younger” mothers to end. Let us know if we can be of support to you in the future.
