Take The Trip: Halloweekends At Cedar Point

I was blessed to get an invitation to head to Cedar Point for their Halloweekends! Each weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from now until October 28, Cedar Point is doing it BIG for Halloween.

This promo video did its job and scared the crap out of me:

I saw that and was like, “Um…yeah, see, about that.” Mama doesn’t do roller coasters and I don’t do monsters and scary stuff. (Blame my Catholic school upbringing, where we had “Harvest parties” instead of “trick or treating.”) So I wasn’t quite sure if it would be appropriate for little kids.

But we went to Cedar Point and had a great time. My kids loved all the Halloween decorations and they did a great job of making the park look festive without being too scary for little ones. They had a few shows available for the kids and all the kiddie rides were open for them to enjoy. The park doesn’t get scary until after 5 p.m., so you have plenty of time to get there and enjoy yourself before everything turns dark.

We usually do Boo at the Zoo each year and while we still might, this was one step up on the excitement scale. I’m sure we’ll be back next year!

If you don’t believe me when I say my kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves, here’s a picture I snapped when we were still pulling out of the parking lot at the end of the day – they were worn out!

Disclosure: I was given a four-pack of tickets to review Cedar Point’s Halloweekends experience.

  1. Back seat naps are the best…and they look so cute.

I haven’t been to Cedar Point in years. Sounds fun.
