7 Young Mommy Blogs You’ll Adore

I’ve said it a gazillion times – the reason why I LOVE writing this blog so much is the comments.

I’ll write what I think is a decent post, hit publish and then sit back and marvel as you guys come from all over and leave your stories and advice and laughter. It’s an awesome feeling.

But even BETTER than the comments is when I can discover a new blog from a commenter. Makes.my.day!

I’ve been meaning to write this post for what seems like forever, but today it’s here. I’ve been looking for other young mom bloggers who are deserving of an award, so I created my own. Here’s the winners of the very first “You Make Motherhood Look So Good” award, for moms who raise wonderful kids and then find time to blog. Some write funny posts, some are dead-serious, others are motivational and others just make you want to eat!

Mommy Glow

Mommy Glow – I adore Alexandra, the blogger behind Mommy Glow, for the same reasons every one else does. She’s incredible nice and funny and very, very passionate about creating a great life for her daughter. Plus, she’s a dope writer and I always respect that. She sheds light on being a young single mom and how she still has that “Mommy Glow.” Run – don’t walk – over to her blog and get lost in the posts.

Mom Delicious – “What a cute blog!” is the first thing I said to myself when reading Alicia’s blog. You’ve got to love Alicia’s writing style. I haven’t spoken to her in person, but I’ll bet $50 she writes like she talks and that’s awesome. Her little man is growing up and it’s fun to watch as she handles potty training and the search for cute clothes that won’t break her budget. Be sure to add her to your “Favorites” list.

Pink Lady Gumbo – Remember a loooong time ago when I had launched a food blog? I love to cook and figure out ways to make delicious, quick, affordable meals that my kids will actually eat. But then everything else in my life got busy and when it came time to make some decisions, my precious food blog got the ax. But don’t despair – because Pink Lady Gumbo is the blog I would have written had I still had time. Her recipes are delicious and she breaks it down step by step so even if you’re not that comfy in the kitchen, you can follow along.

Teen Mama – How many of you were (are) teen moms? *looks around at all the raised hands* Well, then you need to be reading this site, if you aren’t already. Alexandra breaks it down in a way that makes me want to quit my job and start a nonprofit for young parents (Oh wait, that is what I’m planning…albeit a few years from now.) We share the same beliefs – ANYONE can be a good parent, you just need to be pointed in the right direction. Head over to her site to get empowered.

Planning, Praying, Playing – “Mrs. O,” as she comments on here, has been reading the site for a while, but she e-mailed me last week asking for a post on how to transition from a family of three to a family of four. I happily obliged. Luckily for me, I took a step further and visited her blog. It’s beautiful and her writing style is so honest and pure. Please visit her blog. Often. I command you.

Bottle Chronicles – Aww, man, do I love Jess’ blog. (And her son is so cute I wish I could eat his cheeks through the screen.) Her story is real. There is no sugar coating. Her story is one that needs more attention. There are moms all over the world like Jess but they get no love. They are ignored. And it’s wrong. So head over to her blog and make yourself at home.

A Woman’s Worth – In my upcoming book, I’m dedicating a chapter to financial moves every young mom should make. She is definitely going to be a source. First of all, she’s so savvy it should be illegal – no one should be allowed to be that darn fabulous! But she knows what she’s talking about. She’s been there. And she’s making moves for her future and I am so glad to be along for the ride. (P.S. I know her in real life and I’ve already claimed that I will be her Gayle when she gets to Oprah level.)

So get to clicking – See what these moms are all about!
