So Yakini from Prissy Mommy tagged me for the Honest Scrap Award almost a month ago. Yikes! I’m so behind on my to-do list it’s crazy!
Basically, I’m supposed to share 10 interesting, completely honest things about myself. (I’m sure by now you’ve read a few posts like this.)
So here it goes. My 10 “Revelations”! Slap me if you think these are uber-boring…
1. I cry at commercials. Regularly. The laundry detergent commercial with the dad drying off his son after his bath? AWWWWW!!!!
2. I can barely swallow pills. When I say barely, I mean barely. It will take about a half hour to get one Tylenol down. Needless to say, I don’t like medicine.
3. I go through a daily love-hate relationship with my body. What I wouldn’t DO for a bigger butt.
4. Some days I feel like shutting this blog down completely because I will never have the time to truly make it what I envisioned it to be. There’s so many things I want to do, but I have a day job, too, folks and it needs to be number one priority.
5. I daydream all day long about winning the lottery. My grandmother used to run numbers back in the day so we’re a lottery-playing family from waaaay back in the day. If I won the lottery, I would still keep writing. Which is how I know that I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do.
6. I’m addicted to magazines. When I found out about Maghound.com, a magazine subscription service that lets you subscribe to multiple magazines for an insanely low monthly rate with the option to switch magazines at any time, I damn near peed my pants! I was getting about 10 magazines a month for $11! What?!?!
7. When our kids get grown and on their own, I told my husband I want him to move out for a year so I can have my own space and we can “date” again. I figure, by that point, we will have been married well over 20 years so this will shake things up. I know I’m crazy but hey, I deal with it.
8. I can’t stick to a budget worth a damn. That one’s pretty self explanatory.
9. This one’s pretty silly. When I’m driving in the rain, I get self-conscious about how fast my windshield wipers are going. I’ll have them on medium-high speed, and then look at everyone else’s once-every-10-seconds mode and be like, “Girl, it ain’t raining that hard. Quit being a punk.” LOL!
10. I shave my legs like twice a year. Pure laziness. But luckily, the hair on my legs doesn’t grow that fast.
And a bonus because I love you so much:
11. I am a big baby and I do get scared if I’m in the house by myself at night. My house creaks and makes all kinds of “Someone’s walking around in the attic” noises. I keep a hammer in my bedroom “just in case.”
Alright, so I’ve revealed some things about me. Some are more interesting that others.

LOL omg, I forgot all about this. Thanks for doing it – enjoyed your answers. Ha, I hate shaving with a passion and only do it when I must – unfortunately the hair does grow in fast, so my legs usually look a hot mess. If electrolysis were cheap and also pain-free I’d totally do it. Too bad it’s neither.
A bigger booty would sure be nice… would round out my hips. Ahhh well, we can’t all be so lucky. LOL
I totally cry at commercials too. Sometimes they’re just so touching!
Lets see. Here we go…
1. I like the smell of things that most people probably consider stank or weird lol i.e gasoline, pine sol, black markers, white clothes out the washing machine that smell like bleach!…weird I know lol
2. When I’m at home I rarely wear actual clothes…it’s more like tank tops and booty shorts. It irks my husband to no end, especially when his boys drop by w/o calling! lol
3.Green skittles are my absolute favorite! I wish they sold skittles by the color so that way I wouldn’t have to pick out only the green ones! I get the same satisfaction from the taste of green skittles as I do from the smell of pine sol…is that crazy?? lol
4. I’m a sucker for a pair of fly shoes! I don’t care how uncomfortable they are, I will suck it up, put on my game face and smile like everything’s kosher!
5. Sometimes I feel like the only black girl who cannot dance and I often wonder how much more exciting my life would be if only I could dance…..:(
@Mrs. White – Oh my goodness, I don’t have any rhythm either! Whew! Thought I was the only one.

Hmmm what’s my one juicy something? I know I shouldn’t but I really enjoy reading romance novels! Not the street stuff… just really syrupy African American romance novels from authors like Brenda Jackson and Donna Hill. Not juicy? I know but it’s something LOL…
1)I will NOT touch wool (or anything that feels similar. I am afraid of it. It makes me feel dirty, and I shiver and get dizzy if I touch it.
2)I only eat red Starbursts and Skittles. I refuse to eat the other ones. The bad part is that they don’t put that many red in the package, and that is the reason why I hardly ever buy them.
3)I like to destroy things. I love to take stuff apart. I love taking nails out of wood and staples out of stuff. It gives me a warm feeling inside.
4) I have an obsession with registering when I buy products. I have to register them or else I go crazy. I also have a little Ziplock bag with all my product manuals, even if I know I’ll never need them.
5)I watch Bad Girls club on Oxygen. It’s my guilty pleasure. My husband asked me why I even watch that show, and my response was “It’s mindless entertainment and drama that isn’t my own. It feels good after a long, hard day of using my mind and emotional energy to be able to watch people act like morons.”
6)I also like Golden Girls re-runs. I love Dorothy!
LOL, I am obsessed with my wipers, too! I thought I was alone!
I am also scared to be alone at night. The noises scare me enough when my husband is actually at home. I actually amafraidofthedark. Yes, this 25-year-old woman has a night light on her side of hte bed. Ok, there. I said it. But um, I don’t have a hammer like you, Tara, lol.
@Mrs. CJ – Yay! I’m not the only one who is crazy about the wipers.
I get so self-conscious, like, “Is it raining THIS hard? Or THIS hard? Hmmm…maybe THIS hard?” LOL.
And when I lived at home with my parents, my sisters and I would split up my dad’s golf clubs and each kept one under our beds “just in case.” I can’t tell you how many times we almost clocked my dad when he didn’t announce himself coming up the stairs. LOL
This was great! I am obsessed with my windshield wipers too. I’m always paranoid and looking at how often everyone else’s wipers are going…I thought I was just weirdly paranoid and all alone in my paranoia. I’m glad to know I’m not alone, LOL.
Ok…me…
1. I can’t stand anyone touching, or even looking at my feet. My feet are a “no one goes there” kinda zone.
2. I love to have my head and hair petted…it just feels so nice.
3. I obsessively check my email. I’m addicted.
4. I cannot fall asleep unelss I have at least two comforters on top of me, and the sides and bottom have to be tucked under my body and feet. I cannot sleep otherwise. I have to be wrapped up like a cocoon. And I would never be able to sleep if my feet were exposed. Monsters under the bed might get me, you know (lol). Well, I’m not serious about the monsters, but the covered foot thing is very important. I’d be an insomniac if I didn’t have blankets.
@Katie – How funny is it that I am nodding “yes, yes” to everything you wrote? I LOVE when people “pet” me. Rub my head and I will be knocked out in a matter of minutes. It’s so soothing. E-mail is addictive, as are my Twitter and Facebook accounts.
im obsessive compulsive about my pajamas. i collect them and have many. most importantly, i cant sleep unless my clothes match. strangely enough im not that way about anything else in my life.
