Giveaway: CocoaBabies.com tees, mugs and more!

To whom much is given, much is expected

I try my best to instill in my kids that they are capable of great things, and great things are expected of them. The above quote was repeated to me almost daily by my parents while I was growing up and I carry it around with me to this day. I surround my kids with positive people and experiences, and cross my fingers that it’s enough to compel them into the world as confident men and women with something to achieve in life. If nothing else, my kids will know they are loved and supported beyond their wildest dreams.

The products at CocoaBabies.com all have that same positive message – that same, “You can do anything you put your mind to, baby” mantra that I have whispered in my babies’ ears since before they came out the womb.

Check out the line of “When I grow up…” onesies. Too cute for words!

  1. I’m a 23-year-old mother of a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son. Right now, I’m a senior majoring in Computer Science, Information Systems. Electronics are my guilty pleasure and recently, I’ve found that my toys are also my daughter’s toys.

It amazes everyone around me when they see how well my daughter can access the internet and navigate through the systems. I created her own Windows log in on my laptop and she knows how to log in using her “password”. She knows how to access the internet and go to her favorite websites. It’s amazing what this kid could do. From the utilization of my cell, iPhones, and even ONSTAR, it puts a smile on my face.

I’m sooo very proud of her for taking an interest in something that I’m also interested in. In a way, this gives us much more to share and enhances our bond. Technology is all around us and whether some of us accept it or embrace it, we have to deal with it on a daily basis. There aren’t a lot of women who seek interest in science compared to men. Iyanna’s interest in computers and technology is my own inspiration to completing my degree. Balancing working overtime, going to school full time, and single parenting is no cakewalk, but I have faith. My daughter gives me that faith and that strength to continue. She really believes in me and My God, that’s a wonderful feeling!

  2. My daughter is very practical. She always says that she wants to be a doctor or a nurse but that she specifically wants to work for the Federal Government because they have good retirement plans (which she is already planning for at age 10) If I had to guess right now I would say that she would probably end up doing something along those lines.
My son isn’t even 2 yet so it’s hard to tell. But he is even at this age very good with figuring things out especially when it comes to electronics. So maybe some type of engineer.
Of course they are both little and the things that they like and want I’m sure will change with time. There is no career that I necessarily hope they have. Whatever allows them to make a living and be happy will make me happy.

  3. My little one is going to be a future congressman, although he is only 18months, he babbles with such confidence and authority…LOL

    I’m a fan on facebook!

  4. My son is only 19 months, but if I were to project into the future (based on his current activities), I’d say that he will either be:
    – an engineer (based on his ability to take apart and put almost any remote control, cell phone, etc)

    – a CIA/FBI agent (based on his ability to stealthily make poop in his diaper while hiding under his crib, in his closet or under the kitchen table, undetected) or

    – an Opera singer (based on his ability to raise his voice louder than any room full of adults).

Any or all of the above would be fine.

    • My little man is 18 months and I think he is going to be a music producer. He loves music. He is always dancing or beating on something to make music.

  5. My son is 9 and he says he wants to build things when he grows up. So I indulge him with books about engineering. Since Kindergarten he’s learned his curriculum soley in Japanese and is fluent.(And he is american fyi)He also gets an hour and a half of english. So he plans to set trends with the Japanese and build some of the fastest moving objects around like roller coasters and stuff. He’s an AWESOME kid, and knows what he wants. Even knows he wants to stay close to mommy and daddy when he leaves for college.

  6. I think my 11 year old son is going to be in either entertainment or journalism (they’re both the same thing these days. LOL). He is so creative and intense while writing scripts and imitating different personalities.

I think my 4 year old son is going to be a musician and/or music director. Either that or a math instructor. The boy is a dynamo on the drums! He loves music, and he loves to learn…especially math areas.

  7. By the way, I am a fan of your facebook site, and I’d like to add that no matter what they become, I know they’re going to be a blessing to the world!

  8. My daughter spent her younger years tagging along to meetings at the food bank and going to a variety of lots of different places.I wanted to show her there was a whole wide world out there and to appreciate the vibrance and diversity of life and compassion. Shes a talented writer, artist and very strong in her convictions for someone so young. I think she will make an excellent teacher or artist.she is definitely college bound!

  9. Well MiKhayla is only 2 and I see sooo many things in her whether its her love of music(singer/dancer), the ability to put on a show(actress) or her caring nature of people and animals(nurse/vet) would all be wonderful things HOWEVER I have also noticed she loves the bible if you give her a stack of books the bible is what she picks out and so I also see potential for maybe a preacher. I mean her name is MiKhayla which is Hebrew for “who resembles God”. I just cant wait to see her grown more and more each day.

  10. Mrs. White Is Always Right says:

Let’s see….My five-yr-old son, could end up being so many things. He’s already an extremely talented athlete, so perhaps he’ll make it big in that area. But his personality is off the chain, he comes even more ALIVE in front of the camera and I’m totally convinced he could be the face of BABY anything..GAP, Sean Jean, Roc A Wear, you name it!

My 3, almost 4 year old is a model in the freakin making! That child strikes a pose like no other, without ANY coaching at all! So I can definitely see her as a model lol or even an actress, that way she could put all her drama to work for US lol

and my One year old…hmm, kinda hard to tell right now. She’s extra spoiled, hasn’t started walking yet and expects everyone to cater to her lil butt all the time!…….a Kimora Lee Simons in the making maybe? lol

  11. Mrs. White Is Always Right says:

Oh, and of course, I already like you on FB AND follow you on Twitter :)

  12. I have to little girls: age 7 and 1. My oldest daughter has planned her future already, lolM when she grows up she wants to be a fashion designer. She wants to make “lots of clothes for famous people. I bought her a book last year and when she has time she is designing a new dress or shirt. She uses torn pieces of clothing for shirts on her barbies. Nylon for skirts and whatever she can think up. Now for my youngest daughter I’d have to say she may be the next Layla Ali. She is a true fighter…her favorite words are “bow bow”, lol. My kids will be something important to them when they grow up. I won’t control that, I will just be a role model and a teacher. When they grow up I know they will be a role model too.

  13. My son is 8 months old and with his love of light and electronics I could see him going into engineering or computer science. He may also be a percussionist the way he bangs on everything. LOL

  14. Daisy Abrego says:

Hell there, I am a proud momma to a 1yr old baby girl and and these past few months i’d have to say she loves dancing too much, but ever since I can remember she loved moving to the beat of any kind of music from when she was in my woumb till this day. So I would deffinitly say she’ll be a dancer or better yet my rockstar!

  15. Daisy Abego says:

By the way I am a fan of you’r site and I gotta say I love the quotes!!!

  16. Hmmm… I could list at least a half dozen things right off the bat for Jaedyn, but I don’t want to name any of those. Not to say those things are what he HAS to do or he is going to be, because I don’t know what the future holds. Whatever he decides to do, I know that he will be very driven, learn to work under pressure, and have a strong work ethic. As a single mom I have to do those things every day, so not only will I try to instill those values in him, but I can show him daily by exmple therefore he won’t know anything else. All that matters to me is that he follows his heart and has a true passion for whatever it is that he decides… and just hope it’s something that happens to make a lot of money so he can take care of mommy down the line 😉

And of course I follow you on FB and Twitter
