I wrote these posts on side hustles so long ago, but they are continuously two of my most popular posts. At least 10 folks a day come here looking for them, so let me put them back up front.
Here’s my two-part series on designing a side hustle for yourself. Having a side hustle is a good strategy in any economy, but with unemployment soaring and banks failing left and right, it seems downright mandatory now.

Since side hustles is such a popular post nowadays, I might have to make this a regular feature. What do you think?
Do any of you all have a side hustle? Let me know in the comments and I might feature you in a future post!
My blogs serve as a “side hussle” for me (never heard it called that before though!). Through the BlogHer Ads on my website, it helps bring a tiny bit of extra income, though not much since I don’t have a huge among of viewers. I also consider my Review Blog to be a side job because I get tons of free stuff I otherwise would have had to pay for, and sometimes the reviews come with an extra bonus giftcard. Again, it’s not a lot but every bit helps! I highly, highly suggest getting on with a review company if you have the time and can get in.
I also have a side hobby of decorating letters for people. I started making them for my daughters and family as gifts but people online saw them (I of course was proud of them and posted it for everyone to see!) and some people have ordered them. Again, it’s not a lot and not many people have ordered (though I wish people would because I LOVE making them) but it helps and it’s so much fun

Oh, Leah I meant to tell you I loved your letter idea. I saw your designs and they really are fabulous! My hubby made our kids’ letters and I remember he had a ball making them.
Thanks for sharing this advance. Now I need to get me a Side Hustle.

Side hustles are definitely an asset right now. I don’t have one, but I am still thinking of getting one… putting my crocheting skills to use by marketing my baby blankets. I think I told you about that before. I just haven’t had the extra time to crochet lately nor money for supplies. But now that there is a little cash floating around I think I might have to stock up on yarn at least and then I can put it to good use. My poor baby is still waiting for me to make her a new blanket, lol.
I think that side hustles would be a very smart regular feature given the economy. I know I would check them out.
@Ms Bar B – Oh, I definitely think you should open up that Etsy store you were talking about. I need to go on there and get one as well (as if I can fit one more thing into my schedule!). I would buy some blankets!!
