Best budgeting websites

If you do most of your banking and bill pay online, why not use it to track your spending too? With some of the newer budgeting sites, you can track spending across multiple accounts, giving you a good look at the bigger picture. (Are you saving enough? Spending too much on meals at restaurants? Your monthly gas costs making you rethink that 60-mile commute every day?) Here are the six Kiplinger’s Personal Finance mag thinks you should try.

I used to go with Mint.com, until it was no longer able to update my accounts after my bank switched its terms of use. For the short time I was on there, it was very useful and gave you plenty of ways to visualize your spending.

Have you tried any of these? Do fears about your information’s security bother you? Let me know in the comments!

  1. i don’t think i would use these, but i really do want to get quicken and try using that.

  2. I tried using Microsoft Money for a while, but when my bank switched its terms of use (argh!!!) I wasn’t able to do it automatically. I would’ve had to do everything by hand. Which isn’t bad, but sometimes you like at least part of the work to be done for you.

  3. I just started using mint.com and plan to do a review on it. So far I likey!

  4. @Arlice – I really liked Mint.com and was heartbroken when it could no longer update my accounts. It was really easy and for that short amount of time, I was able to see how much of my income was going toward rent, clothing, medical bills, etc. So quick and easy! I think you’ll love it too!
