You Learn Something New Every Day: Breastmilk in the eye?

milk-main_fullReading over at Motherhood Uncensored about her futile attempts to get some breastmilk in her daughter’s eye so she could help clear up her pinkeye.

That was fascinating to me. Breastmilk? In the eye? On cuts? Scrapes? FOR  ECZEMA? Why haven’t I heard about this before?!?

It’s something like this that needs to be recycled in parenting magazines time and time again. Does everyone else know this or am I out here by myself?

I mean, I knew it was good for sore nipples, but never anything else but nourishment. Now I wish I had pumped more. Darn.

Isn’t amazing what God has given us? The ability to heal. Simply wonderful. Although I have to admit I knew about this remedy I used conventional medicine when my son had on going eye infections.

Yes, I knew this. I’ve seen my mother in action. What I didn’t know was that you could still produce milk years after your child stops nursing. Again, my mother in action.
