Sausage, Potato & Cheese Breakfast Casserole w/ Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles #JDCrumbles

I tease some of my friends because they are ON IT for breakfast in their household. They make pancakes, sausage, fruit salad, AND oatmeal for their kiddos (yes, that’s one meal), whereas my son has been known to gobble a handful of dry cereal on his way out the door.

I’m trying to do better.

My best tip has been to make breakfast the night before. When breakfast is a mere minute versus 10 minutes, it makes a big difference in the morning routine. Here is one of my favorite make-ahead breakfast meals. I make this breakfast sausage casserole at night and then in the morning, I reheat it for about a minute and boom! Breakfast is served. (It also comes together really quickly, so you could probably cook it in the morning as well.)

I used Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles (the original pork version) to speed up the process. It’s fully-cooked, so all you need to do is add it to whatever meal you’re making. It’s one less step. Win-win for me.

Ingredients

1/2 bag refrigerated hash browns (try Simply Potatoes)

Salt and pepper

eggs

2 tbsp milk

1/2 bag Jimmy Dean Fully-Cooked Sausage Crumbles

1/2 cup cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Season the hash browns with salt and pepper. Whisk the eggs and milk together. Season with salt and pepper. Add the Jimmy Dean sausage crumbles.  (If you’d like, you could brown the sausage in the skillet for a minute. It adds a bit more flavor for your casserole.) Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top. Place in the oven and cook for 30 minutes, adding an additional 5-10 minutes as needed. Remove once the top is golden brown and the eggs are set.

Breakfast is DONE. Simple, right? If you are looking for more great recipe ideas, be sure to check out Jimmy Dean’s website.
