Buying Textbooks Is So 2005: Rent Them From CampusBookRentals.com

campusbookrentalspost

Hands down, the worst part of being a student-parent is buying textbooks. Well, that might be a slight exaggeration, but come on! Have you seen these textbook prices lately? It’s like they forget who their audience is (read: broke folks who are trying to get more education to get more money!).

The best thing I’ve done since going back to school is using an online book rental site to buy my books. CampusBookRentals has been my savior for more than one semester.

One particular class (Lifespan Development) required a book that I just knew, by the title, would be an expensive book. I looked it up online and sure enough, it was $200. That was about $180 more than I was willing to spend.

I then turned to Chegg. It was $65. Not bad at all but I was hoping I could do better. I turned to CampusBookRentals and found the same book for THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS. Whaaaat?

In addition to saving a ton of money, check out this list of perks:

  • free shipping both ways
  • can highlight in the textbooks
  • flexible renting periods
  • 30-day risk-free rentals
  • they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented

That said, I can not recommend them highly enough! They made one of the more expensive parts of school super easy and hassle free. (Also, if you follow them on Facebook, they’re pretty funny, too.)

Go on over and do a comparison. Search for a book and see the price difference for yourself! Here’s a quick video on how it works:

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of CampusBookRentals.com. However, I’ve written about my love of the service previously (in this article), so it’s nothing I wouldn’t say for free! 😉

Comments

  1. I highly recommend them as well! I’ve been renting my books for them for about a year now and I love that I’m able to 1) get the textbooks I need for a fraction of the price, and 2) return them and not have the clutter of books I’ll probably never look at again. Plus they have awesome customer service.

And I thought Chegg was the way to go, but thanks for the info!

  3. I been using this service for over a year now! I LOVE IT! i keep cost down. I also recommend to open the box carefully, so you can ship the book back in the same box you got it in!.
