Get Ready For Season 2 Of Mary Mary’s Reality Show!

Last Spring, you would catch me on the couch, sitting next to my husband every Thursday night to watch Mary Mary’s reality show on WeTV.

One major reason I was excited about the show? It was the first reality show (besides the singing competitions) that we could watch together. Basketball Wives? Love and HipHop? R&B Divas? All of those skew toward the female demographic for sure.

But with Mary Mary, he’s a big gospel music fan and I’m a mother of small kids, eager to see how these women balance being on the road and working in the studio with the demands of motherhood. It works perfectly.

And they did not disappoint. Season 1 was filled with tough choices. Should a pregnant Erica pull out of the tour due to early labor signs? Should she go solo? How can the sisters improve their communication style in order to strike more balance in the group?

I also liked how they strove to be “real,” something that’s so rare on reality show. They talked about sex openly and honestly and shared their feelings on keeping your husband happy.

But what I loved most about the show is how fiercely they protected their roles as wives and mothers. I know a bit about what it’s like to deal with disappointed kids when you’re busy working, like when Tina had to leave her kids for Thanksgiving. I know what it’s like to have your husband pull you to the side and ask for more attention, like Teddy did to Tina. I know what it’s like for your husband to plead with you to stop working so hard and pay attention to your health, like Warren did with Erica when she was working herself into early labor.

I am sooo looking forward to Season 2, because it’s refreshing to see two black women handling their business in every area of their lives. They’re actually accomplished, not simply famous for being famous or defining themselves by the relationships they’re in.

It’s situations like these that the three-time Grammy® award-winning gospel duo Erica and Tina Campbell face in Season 2 of WE tv’s hit series Mary Mary as they balance being recording artists, mothers, and wives. MARY MARY premieres Thursday, December 6 at 10|9c and moves to its regular timeslot on Thursdays at 9|8c, beginning December 13. Watch a sneak peek here!
