Adele’s Boo Is Fourteen Years Older – Did You Have A Baby With An Older Guy?

I was so happy for Adele when I found out she was pregnant earlier this year. (I love her voice and secretly think I sound just as good singing “Rolling In The Deep.”) She seems really happy with her boyfriend Simon Konecki, who’s 38. Because Adele looks so much older than 24, I forget sometimes that she’s younger than me.

It got me thinking about how we find love and the man who fathers our children. My husband is five years older than me and sometimes it’s a problem because he truly acts like he’s 40. I can’t imagine what life is going to be like once he’s in his 50s and 60s.

Most of the women I know have hooked up with older guys and I get it—want to know the reason why I was so enthralled with my husband when we first met? Because he had his own little apartment and all the furnishings that go with it. He had steak knives and appliances and spare blankets for those nights you’re cuddling on the couch. He had his s$&% together at 22. Most 22-year-olds are eating Ramen noodles for dinner and sleeping on the floor of their best friends’ dorm room. I was attracted to the fact that he seemed so much more mature than the guys I was used to seeing around campus.

And that’s what gets us. Not that all young guys are irresponsible and crazy and not that all older guys are romantics with a penchant for listening to you babble for hours on end.

But enough about me – what about you? Are you with an older guy? Is it different from being with a young guy? (And let’s keep in mind, at some point, they’re all going to be old. LOL)

  1. I am with an older guy, my husband is 6 years older than me. I don’t seem to mind it at all. It’s not that the guys my age didn’t have their act together (well at least the ones I talked didn’t), it really came down to where I was at, and were he was at, was the same place.

We just blended. If Adel is happy with her older man, then I’m happy for her. It’s hard to find love.

  2. My hubby is 10 years older than me. I have always been mature for my age. So, I knew that I would fall in love and marry an older man.

You can ask any of our friends and they will tell you that it is hard to believe that we have a 10 year age difference. We balance each other perfectly.

  3. I’m 28, and my husband is 34. We met when I was 20 and he was 26. At first, the age gap was so obvious. I still felt like a teen until I was around 25, and he was already old-acting. Now that we’ve been married for over 6 years, we have so much in common and we have both matured (I’ve done a little more maturing since I’m the youngest), so I don’t notice the age difference anymore. I like our age difference.
