Baby weight be gone

I recently started the 30 Day Shred. For those who don’t know what it is, it’s a DVD by Jillian Michaels (a trainer from the Biggest Loser). You do the DVD every day for the 30 days and you’re supposed to lose a bunch of weight.

It’s a 20-minute workout but it’s hard. It’s killer. It’s three circuits. 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes of cardio, 1 minute of abs. Repeat two more times. Cool down.

Then you’re done.

So I’ve been fitting it in somehow. (I swear it feels like I don’t have 20 minutes to spare in my day – how sad is that?) I’m on Day 5 as I write this and while I (obviously) don’t see any difference yet, I FEEL different. Which is key.

I think.

I’m only writing this post so you know about my weight loss efforts and hopefully all the “eyes” on me will motivate me to not slack off and actually lose the baby weight this time.

Like I told my husband earlier this week, I am tired of losing the same 5 pounds over and over again. I need to lose 10-15 pounds, the majority of which hangs oh-so-lovely-like off my abs. Or, what would be my abs if that fat wasn’t there.

I want my clothes to fit better. I want to feel sexier. I want to layer my clothes because it looks cute, not to camouflage my stomach. I want to pick a pair of jeans and feel fairly confident they’ll fit. I want to see some definition in my abs, darn it!

My body has already done so much, giving me two (big) beautiful kids. And I’m done with the childbirth so if I get in shape now, it will be the last time I’ll have to lose the baby weight, right? Right.

Wish me luck.

  1. Haven’t heard too much about this besides from a blogger friend who did it. Here’s her results: http://www.aliciashomemaking.com/2010/11/30-day-shred-finale.html Her son just turned 1 last month. Heard Jillian is mean though. =p

  2. I’ve started working out this week to lose my baby weight. Like you I don’t see results yet but I feel better.

I’ve been telling my husband this and while he says I look fine the way I am I don’t feel it. So, this is my way of doing something good for me.

  4. Way to go! I joined my gym last summer and made good progress. However, the holidays set me back (rather I set myself back with the overindulgence), but I’m back on my grind now! I think I’ll recommend the 30-day shred to the hubby. He needs something to fit into his busy schedule.
