@T - Based on the previews I thought the firefly was odd too, but from hearing from folks down in Louisana, it seems they got the firefly just about perfect in terms of looks and accent (says he's based on some Creole/Cajuns down there). *shrug* I was contemplating taking my daughter to see it again this weekend. Might want to since Avatar is coming out. Crap!

Harmony and I absolutely loved it! (I know she's only 5 months old but she talked to the screen [quietly] for most of the movie which means she gives it two tiny thumbs up!) The only thing that got to me was how the firefly had buck teeth and a big butt and talked like a slave. Other than that I thought it was great! I would definately see it again. And again. And again. And buy the dvd when it comes out. And the soundtrack. :]

Nice review. I haven't seen it, and will probably go see it alone because my daughter is only 1, and my sister, mom, and best friend don't care about it :(

I haven't seen it yet but am looking forward to it this weekend. fingers crossed that I make it.

to Erykah I know exactly how you feel. I often wonder when this part of Dr. Kings dream will come to pass... "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." so sad that we aren't their yet.
