I’ve always admired Will and Jada (Pinkett) Smith. Besides the fact that they are both superstars, they also make this whole parenthood thing look easy. While I don’t know what goes on in their personal life, I do know that from the outside, they seem to have a good handle on how to balance work, their relationship and their family responsibilies. The two homeschool their children, Jayden and Willow, and after several years, decided that they wanted to launch a school that promoted the same principles they were instilling in their children at home.
It’s going to be called the New Village Academy and it opens this fall. Read the Essence article and check out the school’s website. It sounds like a place I’d like to send my kids.
I know we at the Young Mommy Chronicles have younger kids, but are you thinking about schools yet? Let me know in the comments.

Mmmm yeah I agree with everything you said except I don’t know about sending my 4yr old daughter there. Their foundation in based apon scientology theology.
@ Leslie – Yes, when I wrote that, I didn’t know about the scientology aspect of it – it IS an old post after all – but still, I went to Catholic school all my life and learned about the saints and all that, even though I wasn’t Catholic. I understand your point though – I just don’t want to infer that scientology is bad. It’s just not for me.
